Competition 1st place winner: ‘Serenity Peak’ by Myboyshay
All aquascapes submitted by midnight on Sunday 15th November 2009 to AquascapeGallery.com were judged by our creative and technical department and some independent judges.
The winner was ‘Serenity Peak’ by Myboyshay who was awarded a £50 TGM voucher to spend in store or online, plus the winning work will be featured and promoted in our national (UK) magazine campaign.
“This is my first real go at aquascaping, I love the work of the great Amano, especially his Iwagumi’s, I had to give it a go. I decided to use mostly ADA products with the full substrate system. The biggest challenge was always going to be combating algae without the use of CO2 injection. I did a 50% water change every day for the first 3 weeks and things have went surprisingly well. It was 5 weeks old at the time of posting and I think the hairgrass is growing in nicely, fingers crossed it will turn out nice in another couple of months.”
