ADA stands for Aqua Design Amano, which is Takashi Amano’s company.
Takashi Amano pioneered the ‘Nature Aquarium’: he used CO2 injection to enhance plant growth which meant that for the first time in the history of the planted tank it was easy to achieve beautiful, lush, green, natural plant growth that mimicked nature – hence the term ‘Nature Aquarium’.
Takashi Amano went on to develop a product line of Nature Aquarium goods, which are now known as ADA Nature Aquarium goods. More recently ADA have developed the Do!aqua range which is designed to introduce beginners to the Nature Aquarium. Both ADA and Do!aqua catalogues are available from TGM, and show the full range of extensive products and equipment available.
Takashi Amano is a highly skilled aquascaper and photographer. He has a Nature Aquarium Gallery in Niigata, which contains a large number of stunning displays.
ADA and Do!aqua goods are perfectly designed for aquascaping – they are effective and practical but also visually stunning in every detail. ADA prides itself on showing the aquascape at its best, which means ensuring that there are no ugly distractions from the scape. This is why many ADA products are very minimal, like the ADA Garden Stand.
