Sticks & Stones Aquascape by James Findley Step by Step

Learn how to create this aquascape yourself in this 40 minute step by step tutorial. This video features 3 areas that we’ve never shown before;
1. You can see every single substrate support being added- so you will understand just how important these are to James’ layouts.
2. Filtration setup – see each step in setting up an ADA Super Jet Filter.
3. CO2 Set up – see each stage of the set up of the pressurised CO2 system.

You will see how it was created from start to finish, and how it looks from all angles as a grown in masterpiece. This is an ADA 60-P 60x30x36cm aquarium- a popular small size.

We’ll talk you through each stage so you understand what’s happening and why.

  1. I’d love to know more about the H20 source. Does James use RO/Di ?

    Thanks!

    1. We use RO water almost always.

  2. Hi!

    I really love your work, but I have one question. How do you manage the temperature? You don’t use a heater – is that because you live in area where is hot all the time or the fish are not so demanding on a temperature?
    If I would have to use the heater, is it ok to use the one you can put under the soil or it will damage the bacteria I’ve put there?
    Thanks very much for answering!

    1. Hi Lea,

      We do use heaters in our water. Sometimes they are internal and other times they are external (inline wiht the filter, located outside of the tank). On some of our videos we remove them for aesthetic reasons. We advise against under substrate heaters which in our experience can cause problems. If you need anything else, just ask 🙂

      Thanks,

      TGM
